The Federation of Texas Aquarium Societies (FOTAS) has several awards and a scholarship that are presented at the annual conference.
In 1980, FOTAS established the Raymond Head and Ernest May Altruism Award to honor a person who has contributed to the aquarium hobby in Texas in a significant way.
Established in 2000, the Braz Walker scholarship is presented to a student who’s studies have implications in aquatics. The award is presented in the form of a $500 bursary. As of 2023, $7500 has been awarded.
The Dr. Keith Arnold Award is presented annually to a person or persons that have contributed in an exemplary fashion to one or more FOTAS clubs financially or otherwise.
The Marvin England Award is presented annually to a person or persons that have traveled great distances to attend the annual FOTAS Conference.
